MathMentors is happy to help you with expert, skilled and caring tutoring. Our tutors have been helping students in Science-Techology-Engineering-Mathematics (STEM) topics for 10+ years. MathMentors recognizes that every student is on a different learning path -- and learning styles vary from person-to-person -- and from situation-to-sitation. We can help you along your particular path.
MathMentor's students have come from middle & high school, college, military and corporate training programs. Tutored subjects have included:
HOW TO START? Email help4stem[at]mm.st -- Email is best and most reliable contact. Please indicate best time to call back. Option: TXT or Call [928]-362-4229 AND please leave your name & Email address.
How Does The Tutoring Process Work? MathMentors works by appointment and pre-arrangement. The first meeting hour is free -- and is a mutual evaluation time. Many first meetings occur via VIDEO CHAT to aid mutual schedules.
Respect & Trust: MathMentors recognizes mutual respect & trust are key to educational success! Our tutors have been carefully trained to meet your student at their NEED and SKILL level! Home schoolers are most welcomed! Students with religious sensitivies are welcomed & respected. Tutoring approach can be adjusted to help reinforce values. Please inquire.
Startup Materials? Please bring or have readily at hand the usual class room materials -- text book, syllabus, homework and other course materials -- either paper or digital (yes, some classes are almost 100% online -- bring a fully charged laptop!). Tutors at MathMentors have been helping students make sense of -- and adapt to -- many different subjects, course materials, teaching / learning styles and variable learning media.
How Often Do We Meet? Experience shows that students can generally improve by 1-2 letter grades with 2-4 hours per week tutoring contact time over six-to-eight week period. Two hours per week is the minimum necessary to make any "real" difference in class room results. Best results occur when students make a "best effort" attempt with assignments before each tutoring session. Even if your student bombs in the homework attempt -- the student's brain has a wonderful way of working on things at an unconscious level -- which really pays off during the tutoring session -- and later in classroom.
When Do We Meet? Generally week nights 4-9 PM. Scheduling is by mutual agreement. Some day time meetings are possible by special arrangement. Saturday and Sunday afternoon meetings are possible. Please inquire. Schedules vary as school terms unfold -- and weekend tutoring sessions can -- and do -- open up.
Where Do We Meet? Often online via video chat for remote, distant or "Home Bound" students. When in person, we can meet at public libraries and coffee shops around area near 59th Ave & West Greenway in north Glendale AZ. There are many good locations -- and much location and time flexibility is possible. Middle & High school students are stongly encouraged to bring parent or guardian for the startup mutual evaluation meeting. Remote, Live VIDEO tutoring is available by pre-arrangement for students that are distant, traveling or struggling with local lockdowns.
What are the Tutoring Rates? Individual, one-on-one tutoring is $30 per hour. Two students studying the same subject -- in a parallel session -- is $20.00 per hour, each. Three students is $15 per hour, each. Four or more require special arrangements. Please inquire for details. Please be ready to pay at the end of each session. Cash is most welcomed. Other payment by discussion and pre-arrangement.
